Now in its third year, the Celebrate Asia concert experience is not to be missed. Featuring not only world-class artists onstage with your Seattle Symphony, but also pre and post concert activities in the lobby — all included in the price of your ticket — this concert honors the rich Asian heritage and culture found in Seattle. Come early (lobby performances starts at 6:30) to experience a traditional Chinese Lion Dance and other culturally dynamic performances in Benaroya Hall’s Grand Lobby. During the concert, you’ll hear new and traditional music from China, Japan, Korea and India, combined with staples of the Western classical repertoire. And, after the concert, enjoy the sounds of the Japanese Taiko drums.

Celebrate Asia! is a benefit concert that draws upon rich local talent in a celebration of Eastern and Western musical traditions. In collaboration with Seattle Symphony (SSO) and local musicians, Celebrate Asia! began as a project to raise awareness of the classical arts within Seattle’s many Asian communities, which number 15 percent of the Seattle population. Celebrate Asia! planning committee members recognized a keen desire among their own and other Asian communities to get more involved in the arts, both as guests and patrons.
